So, basically, the Supremes ruled 9-0 that Trump had to obey a lower court when they court said to return Abrego Garcia, whom Trump sent to prison in El-Salvador, who is not a gang member as Trump claimed.
This case is wrong in every way:
- It’s not legal to send someone to another country’s prison;
- The ICE agent who said the hairdresser was a gang member was kicked off the cops for dishonesty, then got a job with ICE;
- There was no due process before the hairdresser or any of the other kidnapping victims were sent overseas, many of them are clearly not gang members;
- ICE is making arrests wearing masks, not showing ID and grabbing people off the street into unmarked vans. Straight up Gestapo shit.
But what’s particularly offensive is that Trump is saying “I can’t get him back” at the same time as El Salvador’s President is claiming “I don’t have the power to return him.”
This is “I’m telling the sun is pink, with blue polka-dots” level bullshit. Everyone knows they’re lying. This, alone, should lead to impeachment, the sheer fucking insult of such an obvious lie. And every newspaper and news show should be leading with “President Lies.”
Next is the simple fact that legality aside, even Trump has admitted the guy is not a gang member and that they made a mistake. Anyone with even the faintest scintilla of decency would arrange for his return.
Assuming there is a “plan” here, and that’s always questionable when dealing with Trump it is obviously to put the President entirely above the law: what he’s doing is illegal, he’s lying to everyone’s face, the Supremes have ruled against him 9-0, and everyone knows he’s punishing an innocent man. His administration has said they want to start deporting citizens in the same way.
“I can do anything I want and you can’t stop me.”
The obvious next play from the judiciary would be contempt rulings and to start locking up administration members for perjury, which would cause an obvious constitutional crisis, but the US is already not a Constitutional Republic at this point. I can’t even count the number of actions Trump has taken which should lead to impeachment. Due process and the first amendment are clearly dead-letter, he’s violating separation of powers repeatedly and his unilateral shutdowns of Congressionally mandated departments and programs are 100% un-Constitutional. He doesn’t have the right to change Congress’s spending decisions that way. Oh, and he’s publicly blackmailing law firms and universities “do what I say or I’ll hurt you.” Publicly bragging about it.
His tariffs are all based on “national security” clauses allowing the President to declare tariffs, which is, again, obviously bullshit, though it’s also true that Congress is entirely complicit, since they could take that power back. (It shouldn’t be possible for one branch to delegate powers to another branch. The founders never intended for the President to be able to declare war, for example.)
But really, it’s the “sky is not blue” lying that is most offensive to me.
“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”

You’re right in every way except the Supreme Court case in question was over Abrego Garcia, and Andry José Hernández Romero is the deported hairdresser.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?– Who watches the Watchmen? as Alan Moore asked in the last century. We’ll answer in Greek, for now “Nemo”, No Man!!
There might be people outside of the government who have the courage or strength to stand up to Donald J. Trump. Will the entitled for-life-tenured Clowns on SCotUS do so? I’m not counting on it, and I wonder if anyone knows would it take a majority? In that case, the odds are even lower. Of course, the entitled Clowns on SCotUS would and will make themselves a powerless joke if they do that, but I bet there’s plenty of blackmail info out there on the majority of them? How many illegal vacations/ boats/ payments has Clarence Thomas taken from plaintiffs coming before the Court? Who paid the drunkard & would be rapist Brett Kavanaugh’s reported $200K+ in gambling debts before he had his hearings.
Congress is even more MIA, even the fake “opposition” Dimmiecrats. At best. King Donald might wear out his welcome with the voters by crashing the economy before the midterms. Then “maybe” they will impeach, and “maybe” (likely not) they would have a large enough majority to remove him . . . except there’s undoubtedly many of them who also are easy to blackmail.
It’s open tyranny. Per Russell Dobular, this is out of the “Curtis Yarvin playbook”, an opening to full feudal monarchy which he advocated for years.
Phillip K. Dick warned of a Black Iron Prison descending, and it seems to be hear, in exactly the Belly of the Imperial Beast where one would expect it. Will they start deporting pro-Palestine demonstrators, etc? Quite likely, Mahmoud Khalil is still fighting a case in his actual home (or close, New Jersey) but they got Louisiana to have a hearing first and say he’ll be sent either to his country of origin, Syria, or his country of citizenship, I believe Algeria. So he’d be fine in Algeria, but in Syria the head-choppers would kill him quickly (probably on camera.)
Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar might object to the deportation and murder of other Arabs, but given the Zionist majority in the Dimmie party, they will get zero support. You also have Thomas Massie the only (R) who is a real free speech absolutist with principles, Rand Paul is a phony who can’t be bothered.
The future looks dark, it looks something like Kafka’s “In the Penal Colony” for the majority. That’s what happens when people surrender their agency to bought-off whore politicians, while stupidly imagining they live in “The Greatest Country that has ever existed in history”, yes it is the greatest at genocide, ethnic cleansing and lawlessness. Trump rightly represents it, the Dimmies only pretended to oppose him, it seems that things are too far gone at this point.

Ian, I think you’re right about this, but there are a few other possibilities for why they might not want to return Abrego Garcia:
1. He’s already dead
2. He’s alive but El Salvador’s record keeping is terrible so they don’t know where he is
3. The conditions in El Salvador’s prisons are a lot worse than is publicly known and they don’t want him talking about them
4. They want this to serve as an example to all other legal immigrants naturalized citizens so they “self-deport.”
But no matter the reason, it’s absolutely horrific.

Assuming only a successful violent uprising would be enough to slow down or maybe reverse the Trump occupation regime, thinking about it begs the collective action problem/question.
What liberal would fire the first round, knowing that he/she would near-immediately be shot dead with rounds two through nine? What “liberals” in general would try to mass-uprise knowing that they as a “political community” are hopelessly outgunned and out-ammoed by the “conservative community”?
So this begs the second question: what level of anti-blue-state aggression by the Trump occupation regime would force several ten million blue-state inhabitants to feel threatened enough with short-term conquest and colonization-oppression-persecution as a population at the blue-states level to organize for genuine anti-Trump pre-violent offense-defense at the blue state and several-blue-states level?
Would an effort to outlaw and stamp out every “green-energy” and “carbon skyflooding decrease” initiative being attempted by the blue states and zones be enough be enough to convince the blue-teamers that the Trump regime plans to exterminate their separate political and social existence as states and as people?
Here is an article about that exact effort and declaration of war against the blue states.
https://apnews.com/article/trump-climate-ai-data-energy-fossil-fuel-243008a52381e5861f845c038f01f1b8
Violent uprising is inadvisable, especially because the Trump regime is working at several levels to provoke it on purpose so as to invoke the Insurrection Act and declare martial law and taking steps up to strategic carpet bombing of Big Blue Cities and Little Blue University Towns if the Trump occupation regime decides it is necessary, convenient, and/or fun for them to do.
So what could Blue Citizens do? Considering how each individual Blue Citizen has near-zero power over anything? If several ten million individual Blue Citizens focused their several ten million near-zero doses of individual near-zero power on some kind of counter-Trump action field, would “quantity have a quality all its own”?
Most people are followers, not leaders. Followers are not dumm. They know what they want to have and where they want to go. They don’t know how to get there on their own. So they follow a leader who appears to know where the followers already want to go anyway and who appears to know how to get them there successfully. ( As with Dr. King and his movement followers).
So, assuming the zero present or future existence of any genuine productive-to-follow leaders anywhere in the Blue Zone, what kind of leaderless mass counter-offensive can several ten million Blue Zonian followers wage once they realize they have no leader and they as followers will have to figure out how to follow eachother in a generally beneficial direction?
I don’t know. I suppose a first step might be for follower-type people ( like me and most others) could offer ideas about what ” could work” if enough tens of millions of co-followers all did a version of the same thing and kept doing it.
Sometimes a “Pearl Harbor” event can unify a bunch of followers into mass spontaneous action against the “Pearl Harbor” event perpetrator. Trump’s planned and threatened aggression against Canada appears to have been a Pearl Harbor level event for Canada which got millions of Canadians spontaneously moving towards boycotting America and other approaches even before the organizing appearance of any leaders. The subsequent appearance of genuine leaders appears to have re-inforced the spontaneous instincts of millions of Canadians to begin organizing around a structure of planned resistance.
Trump is just as much an aggressionary enemy to Bluemericans as he is to Canadians and Danes and Greenlanders. As long as Bluemericans are too dumm to realize and understand what they see and/or too afraid to admit to realizing that they see it, then Bluemericans will not understand the Trump regime as a series of Pearl Harbor events against Bluemerica. If all several ten million Bluemericans do come to see and realize that Trump is their enemy ( In a Hitler versus USSR sense), then those several ten million
Bluemericans will be morally, emotionally and mentalectually ready to read and write about what ” to do” . And then experiment with doing it.
They have already begun to understand that Musk is their enemy and they have begun to try doing something about Musk. And so have people overseas.
I am not naturally humble enough to keep my thoughts about ” what to do” to myself until others have had a more-than-fair chance to offer their ideas first. But I am biting my fingers to keep from typing out some ideas and thoughts before others have had a more than fair chance to offer theirs first.

Liberals will never do anything to stop Trump.
The next nationwide “Feel Good About Hating Trump Protest” is set for April 19th… one day before Trump will fully activate the Insurrection Act and deploy the military to wipe out dissent.
Look for violent false flag ops at the April 19th protests. Trump will use these to activate the Insurrection Act. He may even go full Martial Law in various Big Blue cities if the protests continue beyond the 19th into BLM-style rallies.
Once citizens start disappearing into unmarked vans, the Liberals will fold.
When Trump was not convicted on the first impeachment in 2019, it was a clear sign the Republicans had no problems with his authoritarian leanings. By the time he was “acquitted” in January 2021, it was all over.
There have been a lot of declarations of “The American Experiment is dead,” but really, the final, true time of death will be the moment Trump signs the declaration of martial law, and the military obeys and does not stand down and coup him and the whole Republican machine.
Then, well and truly, it will all be over, except for the wailing and the gnashing of the teeth… and the dying in the concentration camps.
I sent the following to some friends in 2021. Everyone thought I was over-reacting…
A Warning to my Lefty Liberal Friends
My friends, I regret to say, we’ve already lost.
The 2022 and 2024 national elections, that is. We’ve already lost. And so we have lost EVERYTHING.
With recent court decisions and new laws taking effect that will suppress voting and gerrymander districts; with the complete overthrow of the Federal Court System and SCOTUS by Trump and McConnell (with the help of the Federalist Society and the Heritage Foundation); with the common perception among Americans of all political stripes that leaving Afghanistan was a “debacle” (it wasn’t); and with the broad empowerment of the Deplorables by State Governments and the fracturing of the American “Left;” we’ve already lost.
The Republicans will take the Senate and House in 2022, and a Republican will be president in 2024 (Trump, maybe; more likely, someone more competent).
And then it is Game Over. They will never again lose power, until things finally collapse or some outside power (Russia, probably China) is forced to strike with an EMP or similar mass effect attack.
And if you think the things the Republicans have done to destroy the last 150+ years of progress have been bad so far, it is NOTHING compared to what they will do once they again hold absolute power. They will undo EVERYTHING.
With the right combination of elections, they can and will hold a Constitutional Convention that locks out anything left of Right-Wing Nationalism and institute an autocratic, oligarchic, corporate, racist, misogynist, homophobic, dominionist, illiberal, police state – New Amerika.
And unless you are a Wealthy, White, Straight, Male, Protestant Christian, New Amerika will become a Living Hell. New Amerika will be the bastard child of Dickensian England, Apartheid South Africa, Nazi Germany, and Atwood’s Gilead. Your worst nightmare? Pales by comparison.
Though they will be almost as screwed as the rest of us, the White Supremacists, the American Taliban, the Deplorable followers of Trump, and other of such ilk will allow their masters to do whatever as they please, provided they punch down, hard, at the “Others” whom they so despise.
It won’t all happen at once, mind you; it didn’t happen overnight in Nazi Germany. But they went from victory in 1933 to Final Solution in 1942, merely nine years – and remember, the first concentration camps opened in 1933 to house political prisoners.
In New Amerika, women will be made to “know their place.” Their legal options will slowly be reduced to that of the late 19th century, eventually reduced again to chattel status. NOTE: I started working on this post before the SCOTUS refused to block the Texas abortion ban, so things are proceeding even FASTER than I thought they would.
In New Amerika, People of Color will be made to “know their place.” Jim Crow and worse Black Codes will once again become the law of the land. Private Prisons for Profit will become the Chain Gang Slave Plantations they always truly wanted… if they simply do not re-legalize chattel slavery outright.
In New Amerika, Liberals will be made to “know their place.” Freedom of speech will be severely curtailed. Protests will be outlawed, made into major felonies; protestors will be imprisoned. The Private Prisons will become the Slave Gulags for anyone who has the “wrong” political beliefs. Real Leftists will simply be shot or hung.
In New Amerika, homosexuality will be outlawed. With the Panopticon at their beckoning, no one will be safe, even in their own bedrooms. If even allowed to live, anyone LGBTQ will join POC and Liberals in the new Slave Gulags.
In New Amerika, Jews, Muslims, and other non-Christians will be made unwelcome at first; then limited in their worship; then banished or put into Slave Gulags. Atheists and Pagans go into the Slave Gulags – if they are lucky.
In New Amerika, they will complete their Manifest Destiny and exterminate the Native Nations; at first by dissolving the Reservations and selling off all the lands, legally dissolving the tribes, and then by forced cultural assimilation or exile to the Slave Gulags.
In New Amerika, there will be no legal rights or process for the vast majority of people. It will be a true Police State; if you are not one of the “Elect,” the few who have the protections of the law, the Federal Police will essentially be judge, jury, and executioner. They will have the right to summary executions; not simply de facto, as today, but fully approved de jure (again, unless they are dealing with a member of the “Elect”).
Note that none of this is whacky Liberal Lefty fantasy; the Deplorable followers of the reactionary right wing have been DEMANDING all these changes. They DROOL over having this power. And with absolute power, there will be no reason for their masters not to let them have what they have always wanted, and every reason to give it to them.
What can you do at this point? What are your options?
Note again that the time to fight in the political sector is OVER. We have LOST. Legal gerrymandering and legal voter suppression will not be overturned in the Trump-packed Federal Court system, which include SCOTUS; everything else Trump did was simply smoke and mirrors in order to enable McConnell and crew to pack the courts. Non-Republicans will never again be allowed to have a voice in politics. They will remain, at best, an impotent minority – if they are allowed to remain at all.
That gives you three options:
1) You can fight. Realize thought, that if you fight, you will die – either in the street, in a police torture room, or in a Slave Gulag. We may have the numbers, but the Liberals in this country are too milquetoast, and the Left in this country, such as it is, is too damn fractured to put up a united front. Without that united front, we lose. And by the time the Centrists realize this, it will be too late. Anti-Nazi Germans put up a good fight – and they lost… and they died. Without significant outside help, any rebellion is impossible.
[NOTE: There is the Military Coup option, but with the propaganda being fed to the military after the retreat from Afghanistan, that’s likely to not happen, no matter how much the Brass might want it too. I’d say if it happens, there is a greater than 50% chance it just ends in units fighting among themselves, then collapsing, with the default win going to the Trumpists. And if the Christian Dominionists that have the majority in the Air Force win quickly, they crush everyone else with air superiority.]
2) You can flee. I advise this. If you can get out of the country, get out, as soon as possible. Don’t wait. Get that passport, find a place where things are not as damn crazy, and the long arm of New Amerika will not bother to find you, and go there. As New Amerika will mostly be Isolationist and Xenophobic, most places should be relatively safe, just avoid any place they might want to conquer for resources or punish for old grudges. Note that Canada is not a good choice due to resources; Mexico is not a good choice because of old grudges (I expect an invasion of Mexico to secure the border and steal the oil fields, exterminating anyone who gets in the way).
3) You can stay – if you can “pass.” Not an option for many, of course. But if you can pass for White, can stomach going to their churches, present as cishet, join in at the Two-Minute Hate as needful, and can simply keep your head down, you can stay, and live a mostly quiet, if impoverished life (impoverished in all ways).
This is our future.
Worst Timeline Ever.
The good news is that New Amerika will not last long.
The bad news is that it will collapse in the upcoming Global Climate Crisis, which is anywhere from 10 to 40 years away (likely sooner than later). So then, out of the frying pan and into the fire – and instead of Gestapo USA you will have to deal with cannibals…

But what’s particularly offensive is that Trump is saying “I can’t get him back” at the same time as El Salvador’s President is claiming “I don’t have the power to return him.”
It’s intentional Kabuki Theatre, Ian. In the interest of ‘Israel.’ The layers run really reallly deep.
If you’ll indulge me, I’ll illustrate using this example before moving on to Jeffrey Sachs, a man who these days is allegedly on the side of the oppressed and the victims of wars.
To begin: Nayib Bukele, the president of El Salvador, is a hardcore Zionist. ‘Zionist’ is the preferred term but Zionism in its entirety can be reduced to one simple concept: Full-fledged unassailable support for The Jewish State of Israel.
‘On October 8 of last year, Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele published a post on X outlining his position on Palestine. “As a Salvadoran of Palestinian ancestry, I’m sure the best thing that could happen to the Palestinian people is for Hamas to completely disappear. Those savage beasts do not represent the Palestinians,” he wrote.
Drawing parallels between Hamas and gangs in El Salvador, Bukele continued: “It would be like if Salvadorans would have sided with MS13 terrorists, just because we share ancestors or nationality. The best thing that happened to us as a nation was to get rid of those rapists and murderers and let the good people thrive.”
Bukele closed his post with a word of advice, drawing from his nearly 30-month long—and counting—assault against gangs. “Palestinians should do the same: get rid of those animals and let the good people thrive.”
[The Netanyahu-Trump doctrine]
The parallel drawn by Bukele between Hamas and MS13 derives from an
evangelical ChristianZionist Jewish Supremacist understanding of “terrorist” security threats as a spiritual contest between good and evil. Bukele uses biblical allegories, religious narratives, declarations of devotion, and visual propaganda leveraging sacred symbols to justify the country’s security policies, in addition to asserting the Salvadoran government’s unwavering support for Israel during its genocide of Palestinians.Since first declaring a state of emergency in March 2022, the Bukele regime’s hardline against gangs remains popular and most Salvadorans perceive an increase in public safety, despite a deepening record of political repression, authoritarianism, arbitrary detentions, the suspension of constitutional rights, and widespread human rights abuses—including 265 deaths in state custody and torture in prisons. El Salvador now has the highest incarceration rate in the world.
According to Bukele’s formulation, the great battle for the soul of nations demands a cleansing of uncivilized individuals living among otherwise good people. Recycled iterations of security discourse from the Cold War through the War on Terror and the current “war on gangs” rearticulate a colonial imaginary buttressed by Christian Zionism.’
[We’ve now moved from ‘Evangelical Christianism’ to ‘Christian Zionism’ being the culprits within the course of a couple paragraphs! Neat trick to avoid any inkling that it may in fact be Jewish Supremacist thought, feeling and docrtrine that is the structural driving force behind The Jewish State of Israel and its global wars]
‘To celebrate his first presidential victory in 2019, Bukele posted an Instagram photo of himself praying at the Western Wall in Jerusalem. In the photo, taken during an official visit to Israel in 2018, then-mayor Bukele wears his trademark leather jacket and closes his eyes in devotion. The image speaks to multiple, long-standing sources of Israeli influence on Salvadoran foreign policy;
[‘Israeli’ influence…’Zionist’ influence…’The Jewish State of Israel’ influence…’Jewish Supremacist’ influence]
…it explains why, after October 7, 2023, the Salvadoran government refused to criticize the Israeli genocide of Palestinians, despite the country being home to a sizeable and
politically consequentialpopulation of Palestinian ancestry, including Bukele.Furthermore, the image elucidates a common ideological frame underpinning both Salvadoran and Israeli security politics. Within this frame—what Nadera Shalhoub-Kevorkian calls “security theology”—security itself becomes religion, intertwined with biblical narratives
[The security of the world depends on the security of Israel]
‘In 2018, prior to becoming president, Bukele arrived in Jerusalem at the invitation of deputy foreign minister Tzipi Hotovely and Jack Rosen, the president of the American Jewish Congress, to attend an urban policy conference.
At such conferences, policymakers, consultants, and tech industry representatives broker deals for security initiatives.
Indeed, shortly after his election, Bukele announced a $3 million donation from the nonprofit Jerusalem Foundation for police and military medical supplies. Since assuming the presidency, Bukele has also extensively used Israeli spyware to track the activities of independent journalists, human rights defenders, and members of opposition parties.
Israeli exports to El Salvador have grown at an annual rate of 21.1 percent from 2017 to 2022, with the top products being firearms and military weapons.
These connections highlight the material influence of the Israeli military-industrial complex and continuing Salvadoran security dependence on Israel, which began with the bloody military regimes of the 1970s.
Israel provided 83 percent of Salvadoran military imports between 1975 and 1979, and these agreements continued throughout the Salvadoran civil war (1980-1992) with deals for napalm, arms, and military technology and training.’

Jeffrey Sachs, a man who these days is allegedly on the side of the oppressed and the victims of wars.
Sachs along with David Lipton, Anders Aslund and others ‘privatized’ Russia in the nineties leading to the country’s wealth ending up in the hands of Jewish oligarchs in thrall to the ‘Israel’ global project.
https://www.timesofisrael.com/with-their-planes-grounded-russias-jewish-oligarchs-see-consequences-of-putin-ties/
https://www.sajr.co.za/abramovich-joins-more-than-30-russian-jewish-tycoons-in-israel/
We’re supposed to believe that Putin isn’t on their side and blah blah blah or else perhaps we’re ‘Putin-haters’ which is fast becoming the equivalent of ‘anti-semite.’
But I digress.
Here is Jeffrey Sachs dictating to a crowd of lessers what they ought to believe. It’s not that Sachs is wrong per se, rather it’s that he intentionally muddies the water in the interest of The Jewish State of Israel. The UN and its appendages operate in this kabuki manner and the UN is itself merely an appendage of – or a front for – the global power players game.
What do I mean by this?:
‘I know first-hand that in 2012 UN secretary general Ban-Ki-Moon appointed former secretary general Kofi Annan special envoy to reach a peace in Syria. I loved Kofi Annan. I loved Ban-Ki-Moon.
I worked for both of them.Kofi Annan arranged a peace in 2012. He arranged a peace in Syria. You know why it didn’t happen? Because all the parties agreed to peace except one. Literally one. That was the United States of America. The US said there will be no peace unless Bashar al Assad goes the first day.’
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-xdHYF8bC0&t=375s
So, I crossed out ‘worked for both of them’ because who actually has power over whom is part of the kabuki game.
One thing we know for certain is that Jeffrey Sachs has been able to operate much more freely and openly and for much longer periods of time than any of the other people named herein, including the nominal heads of the nominal leading international body, the UN.
The UN, incidentally, is supported by both Russia and China. Why these two superpowers in their own right don’t up and abandon the allegedly ‘western’ UN and form their own international thingy is the mystery of all mysteries at this point.
Neither Russia nor China has dared utter the word ‘genocide’ against ‘Israel’ and both call for a two-state solution. This leads many to correctly wonder how invested they really are in Iran being that Iran suppports the resistance.
Neither China nor Russia gives a crap about Palestine. Russia has holocaust laws.
Genocide. Holocaust.
Let’s return now to that subject and see how Jeffrey Sachs’ two beloved figures dealt with it from their positions on high at the UN.
Kofi Annan and Ban-Ki-Moon. These are decent people, no? These guys care. A black dude and an Asian guy. They and theirs have experienced oppression from the hands of the ‘European White Western Elite’ and they certainly must remember and thus work for peace in Palestine. Right?
For his part, Kofi Annan sat on the Global Board of Advisors of The Council on Foreign Relations as well as on the JP Morgan Chase international Council. He was a trustee of the now infamous World Economic Forum (WEF)! He was on Geneva’s Global Commission on Drug Policy which no doubt is part and parcel of the international war-drug-carceral complex.
Annan was also on the board of the spooky Macro AdvisorTrustees which set up shop in May 2013 in London and in Sept 2013 in NYC. It was founded by a Danish-Iranian former Harvard-MIT-Oxford Rhodes scholar and Goldman Sachs banker who goes by the name Nader Mousavizadeh.
It was Mousavizadeh who, along with Ed Mortimer, was advising Annan during his time at the UN.

That Montesquieu guy is spinning in his grave. Makes me wonder how much of the separation of powers, mutually jealous institutions balancing each other out, stuff has always actually been bullshit. Because it really does boil down to ‘oh yeah? You and what army?’.
How many constitutional crises of the past (and not just American) have ultimately been resolved by some form of someone finally backing down because the forms must be respected and observed? What happens when someone with real power just says ‘what if I do it anyway?’ and then does? The system apparently has no hard counters to stop that.
This is kind of like how Plato’s utopia of Philosopher Kings would surely quickly collapse under a military coup because that’s where all the real, practical power lies.

apparentIsraeli war crimes during its massive attack on Gaza at the end of 2008 have Israel’s big political guns responded with such unwarranted fury, magnified as usual by ultra-Zionist media commentary.Netanyahu has the audacity to claim that your acknowledgement that it is not unnatural for the Palestinians oppressed for half century to resist and resort to extremism is tantamount to the encouragement of terrorism, what he described as giving a “tailwind to terrorism.”
The fact that your intention was quite the opposite hardly matters. And your repeated denunciation of terrorism will be disregarded by these irresponsible critics whose sole objective is to take attention away from the issues raised.
Israel and its keenest supporters have found that there is no better way to do this than by defaming their critics, branding them as soft on terrorism or even as anti-Semites. And it makes no difference whatsoever that you have leaned over backwards, almost falling to the ground, to deflect criticism of Israel during your time as leader of the UN.
It is not surprising that you should respond to such behaviour in a New York Times opinion piece by imploring Israel and its friends to refrain from “shooting the messenger” and instead heed the message.
What intrigues and appalls me is that while I was special rapporteur for Occupied Palestine during the period 2008-2014, you chose to attack me personally in public on several occasions, joining with US and Israel diplomats calling for my dismissal and doing the utmost to undermine my credibility while discharging this unpaid UN job under difficult conditions.
At the time, I was doing my best to bear witness to some of the same truths about Israel’s unlawful and immoral behavior that recently got you in similar hot water. My UN mandate was to report upon the reality of Israeli violations of international law while sustaining their apartheid regime of oppressive control over the Palestinian people.
The Palestinians need and deserve such a voice as provided by the UN to make governments of the world more aware of their responsibility to take steps that will bring this unprecedented ordeal to an end. In carrying out these duties, it is my hope that future UN special rapporteurs receive the support that they need from future secretary generals.
In my case, hurt and offended by being so unfairly attacked by you, the highest UN official, I was encouraged to seek some kind of explanation from your office, and hopefully even an apology. You never criticised my reports on Palestine or their criticisms of Israel’s policies and practices, but rather focused your venomous remarks on some comments attributed to my views, as expressed on my personal blog, that were concerned with the 9/11 attacks and the Boston marathon bombings.
It was obvious from the content of your attack that you relied on a letter written by Hillel Neuer, executive director of UN Watch, Israel’s faithful watchdog NGO in Geneva, that gave my rather carefully qualified blog comments an inflammatory twist. But it appeared that you seemed wary of engaging in any debate about the substance of my criticisms of Israel’s policies and practices in my reports.
I called your office, and was referred to your affable aide de camp, whom seemed immediately apologetic, before I was even able to register a complaint and explain to him my actual position on these controversial issues.
After listening to what I had to say, he obliquely accepted my concerns by admitting that “we didn’t do due diligence,” by which he evidently meant that the secretary-general and his advisors relied on Neuer’s letter rather than reading what I actually wrote on the blog, which was nuanced and rather moderate in tone and content.
This UN official volunteered a further explanation to the effect that “we were under great pressure at the time from the US Congress, and this was an opportunity to show that we were not anti-Israeli.”
This incident happened to occur while you were campaigning successfully for a second term as secretary-general, and apparently wanted to reassure Washington that you would not rock the boat if reelected.
I venture to say that if you had back then voiced such strong criticisms of Israel’s settlement policy or indicated a similar empathetic understanding of Palestinian resistance, you would never have received Washington’s blessings for a second term as secretary-general.
In light of this experience, I felt at the time that you were joining with others in shooting a messenger who was seeking to convey some inconvenient truths about Israel’s behavior. These truths are rather similar to your own comments about the denial of Palestinian rights, especially with respect to the right of self-determination.
The folk wisdom of “what goes around comes around” seems to fit your plight. You who expediently took shots at the messenger are now taking umbrage when the tactic is directed at you.
This response is reasonable in this instance but inconsistent with your own past behavior. You say, “..when heartfelt concerns about shortsighted or morally damaging policies emanate from so many sources, including Israel’s closest friends, it cannot be sustainable to keep lashing out at every well-intentioned critic.”
True, of course, but why only now? And only you?’

The good news is that CO2 levels in the atmosphere are rising and rising fast and now due to the melting of the permafrost and a human activity are likely to rise even faster.
That means average temperatures rising even faster which leads to more drought, more floods, more hail, more extinctions, and less food,. Followed by sea levels rising faster and faster and demand for resources to repair damaged infrastructure rising faster and faster.
More good news is that the fossil fuels needed to acquire the resources needed to repair damaged infrastructure and to maintain routine economic activity and to provide fertilizer for agriculture is becoming less and less available.
More good news is that even though you may not live long enough to see it. Everyone that you hate is going to die of soon. If not of cancer or a heart attack, then of starvation, or the random violence of someone trying to get a few grams of oatmeal, or of exposure to the elements, such as being impaled by a 4×4 piece of wood propelled by the winds of a tornado.
All of you have to do to enjoy such a spectacle is to ignore the fact that everyone that you do not hate, even that you love, is going to die that way to. Is that to high a price to pay?
If you think that the price is to high I advise that you start making a plan to deal with it on a personal level.

There might be one good-sized turd in the Christian Zionist Jail-them-all Punchbowl which is at least worth sharing: Glenn Greenwald covers here how quickly US voter sentiment has turned against Israel during the last 1.5 years of open genocide– https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OOiSdryRMs
A recent Pew poll highlighted shows negative US adult opinion from 2022 to ’25 moved from 42 to 53% among “US adults.” In Dem/ Lean Dem, it shifted 53 to 69. Among age group 18-49, movement from 62 to 71% negative. And in 50+ D’s the biggest #ical shift = from 43 to 66% roughly 150% more negative.
For R’s overall movement from 27-37% negative. Age 18-49 from 35 to 50%! Little movement over 50, the hardcore white supremacist base, from 19 to only 23%.
Gallup has a similar report. https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/majority-americans-hold-unfavourable-view-israel-pew-poll-finds
Here’s an interesting squib– “After them, White evangelicals hold the highest favourable view of Israel at 72 percent. Notably, more White Protestants and Catholics now hold unfavourable views of Israel at 50 percent and 53 percent, respectively.”
Force and violence only go so far. Now, I’d be the last one to deny that the Trumpian model of “governance” so far seems to very much emulate the ideology and actions of the Pinochet regime. Do I think there will be “false flags” at the Controlled Opposition Dimmie “Hand’s Off Ukraine” (not Hands off W. Bank, which would reflect international law, much less Hands off Palestine) demonstrations? Why bother, after all? These are the people who put Trump into power with their own shitting on the peasants and failed wars and funding and directing the Gaza Genocide from Oct. of 2023 until Jan. 20th of this year.
Yes, the MAGAts plan to go there. (The ones at the top; they voters at the bottom already have been and will continue to be victims.) But how good are these “best people” at anything? The Bush Fascists tortured some people in Black Sites, got forgiven and rehabilitated by Obama, but their view of a 1,000 year reich of Christo-fascism spluttered and failed as the public turned on them. Will youth with No Future (as many predicted in 1977) all sign up to lick-spittle the Chosen Race*, or will exhaustion and resentment rule the day?
*Note– I refer to Zionist doctrine, and many, perhaps even a majority of American Jews won’t go down that Rabbit Hole. Same for Jews across Europe and elsewhere, I suppose. Sure, the Media elite– connected will (Deborah Messing, Sarah Silverman, Chuck & Amy Schumer, etc.)
Trump isn’t Ozymandias, and even Alexander Magnus came to a bad end when his reach exceeded his grasp. I expect beyond the shared Megalomania/ Insecurity he was more than a little smarter than Trump and his Crew of Mayberry Mussolinis.
If we can’t count on Virtue (the American public has next to none, just mindless consumers) we can at least count on Incompetence, something Trump Inc. and he personally (along with Incontinence) share. I’m not telling anyone to have hope. But it would be better to die resisting than collaborating in my view. People will choose their own out, but I don’t think this fascist dystopia will prevail for long. You can only force shit down people’s throats for so long and tell them to enjoy it, as Hillary, Biden-Harris et al have amply demonstrated. Trump is just following in their footsteps as the donors demand, he knows no better. Napoleon III cannot morph into the Sun King, any historical moment for that has sailed long ago.

This CECOT gulag is such a strong example of how a threat to justice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. I advise watching this pro-CECOT “documentary” to see the gratuitous cruelty of the place, including that anyone sent there will never be released, never gets any contact with family, gets only 30 minutes a day outside their cell, is crammed in 150+ to a cell, no blanket, no reading material, inadequate protein in diet, nothing at all to do in there. It’s designed to drive people insane I think.

This model will be expanded to US prisons. I expect ALEC has already written draft bills for states to make their prisons follow the CECOT model.
I am hoping the ICC indicts Bukele. It’s possible, El Salvador is a member. This is a pretty obvious Crime Against Humanity and they just took down Duterte for similar reasons in his drug war.
different clue
Who has some power to influence Bukele’s decision making on this matter? Those who have the power to strangle El Salvador’s economy close to extinction and torture Bukele into submission. Who has that power in fast-enough realtime to make a difference?
El Salvadoreans in Diaspora have that power. Wherever they live and work, they send money back to their families in El Salvador. Here is a chart of the percent of El Salvador’s entire GDP is made up of remittances.
https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/BX.TRF.PWKR.DT.GD.ZS?locations=SV
If El Salvadoreans in Diaspora ( most especially in America) are genuinely concerned that the Trump regime could send any or all of them to Bukele’s gulags for the simple fun of it, they could all at once stop sending any remittances at all. They would immediately shrink El Salvador’s GDP by about 25% or whatever. If non Salvadoreans all over the world totally boycotted every single thing that is exported from El Salvador until all the Trump abductees were released from Bukele’s gulags and Bukele were economically tortured into reversing and cancelling his agreement with the Maga regime to accept kidnapped abductees from America, then perhaps he would release the abductees and cancel the agreement.
The remittance-withholding part of it would only happen if El Salvadoreans all over the world spontaneously consider this their Pearl Harbor moment. If they don’t, then nothing will happen. If they do, their example might inspire others to start and join a boycott to torture the Bukele regime into releasing the abductees and cancelling the abductee-harvesting agreement.
( Separately, I remember hearing that while the Supreme Shystercourt supposedly supported the concept of the Maga regime ” facilitating” the release and return of the kidnapped abductee in question, the Supreme Shystercourt drew a distinction between “facilitate” and “effectuate” that return, which the lower Court had also demanded. The Supreme Shystercourt pretended that the lower Court had to demonstrate how that lower Court could demonstrate what “effectuate” means and could demonstrate how it could force the Trump regime to effectuate that effectuation in step-by-step detail. In other words, the Shystercourt wrote a clever Shyster loophole into its opinion through which the Trump regime could escape the “requirement” to recover the abductee in question.)

Here is a thought based on the hypothetical happy hope that the Grim Jim forecast will not come as true as fast as Grim Jim forecasts it will.
What if some people in the Blue States and Blue Zones created a Blue States Survival Party? What if enough people joined it to make it a Real Party with a Real Movement behind it? What if they set up their own BSLEC ( Blue States Legislative Exchange Council) to work on harmonizing Blue States survival laws in the various Blue States?
Separately, here is an interesting r/AskReddit question called: ” Americans, how do things really look in your day-to-day life after Trump’s presidency began? ” Here is the link.

Different respondents give their different views and reports. (Obviously, the sort of people who would even read a reddit and would then write something is already a very rigorous self-selection/ Darwin filtration right there.)

I dunno. If it came down to a real civil war situation, how much of the rank and file military would desert for the revolutionaries? For that matter, would it make that mich differance? As Afghanistan showed if nothing else, a popularly supported insurgency wil beat even a very technologically superior force that lacks such support. And the US has more guns than people. And did the Afghans win because of Air Superiority? No. Air Superiority means a lot in a peer to peer stand up fight. Against an insugency, its practically meaningless. Observe the Saudi efforts against Yemen. KSA had TOTAL air superiority and the Houthis beat them bloody in every encounter. That’s why I’m not worried about the US invading Yemen. They’d never get off the beach. The former Yemeni army had VERY sophisticated rocket artillery units and that is why the Houthis have been so very successful, despite being so small and poor.

Well I worked as a core engineer at a Seacoast Nuclear Power Plant. We take in ocean water, filter it and use it to cool the cores. A 21 year old from Dodge came in and told us our jobs were a waste in government spending. So now the core lays unattended and will over heat in the next 55 days. This overheat will cause a meltdown equal to an atomic bomb taking out 12 square miles of the surrounding area killing thousands. But other then that fine.
I suppose that core engineer at a “Seacoast Nuclear Power Plant” doesn’t want to say which one for all the self-preservation reasons. If he is telling the truth and not just contributing rage-bait, then he is quietly making arrangements to silently flee and help the few people he cares about and thinks deserve to survive quietly flee as well.

@Mago,

Separately, here is something from the LeaksAndRumors subreddit. It is just a rumored leak from 4Chan. It has not been verified or confirmed. Still, I hope it is true and real and can be verified and proven beyond any possible debunking. It is titled
” Elon Musk’s Alleged Unverified 4chan Account Leaked: Calls Himself “Antichrist,” Praises Hitler, God Complex, Antisemitic Rants, New World Order agenda ”
Here is the link.

If this is true and real, it would illustrate the Silicon Nazi leg of the Three-Legged Stool of Support comprising the Triple Nazi Revolution behind and beneath the Trump regime. And if this were true and real, perhaps it can be weaponised and disseminationable-ized for super viralization to the point where it gets right up in the faces of millions of Christianazi members of the Christianazi Leg of the Three Legged Stool. Maybe it would spark dissension and conflict between the Christianazi and the Silicon Nazi legs of the Three Legged Stool of Triple Nazi Revolution support for the Trump regime.

.”(It shouldn’t be possible for one branch to delegate powers to another branch. The founders never intended for the President to be able to declare war, for example.)”
Wish that were true but that was effectively subverted when, for practical reasons, the power to apply and change regulations was delegated to the Executive branch in the form of being able to promulgate and enforce regulations as they saw fit. the slight caveat is ultimately those regulations would be under Congressional review)
The ability to declare war has not been operational in my lifetime. Last declared war was in 1941. Since then, bupkis.
We’ve gone from Constitutional Crisis Constitutional failure. I mean who needs a used Constitution?

This is clear rage-bait. The USG regulates the operation of nuclear plants, it doesn’t actually own them (well, not any that aren’t embedded in naval vessels, research / training reactors, or reactors for the production of weapons material). I can think of one historical oddity where the ownership might still be the USG, but they don’t own / operate it. If there’s any other, it’s escaping me. The defining characteristic of US nuclear generation vs. most-of-rest-of-world is that it’s overwhelmingly privately held.

Different Clue: my instincts as a long-time bridge-dwelling opinion-haver tell me that ‘Dogmeat8-8’ is having a laff. The username is a reference to Fallout, a post-atomic videogame series. Also, note the cake icon by the handle? Remember, “the cake is a lie.”
As far as I know US NPPs are entirely private ventures, albeit heavily subsidized and regulated. It’s unlikely Musk’s mutts could or would have any operational input.

Another thing the 4chan leak showed was that Israeli’s are apparently by far the biggest posters on /pol/ by #s. Double(!!!) the amount of posts compared to the number 2 country, the US. Imagine that, lmao. There isn’t an English language platform out there apparently that is free of shitsraeli gaslighting. Amazing

Hello dc. Yes, thanks for the correction. Queen Noor. Memory fades with age.
On another note Frank Zappa who’s been disparaged and dismissed by some here because of cigarettes and hypocrisy and who knows what, rightfully pointed out a few truths even though he named his daughter Moon Unit. This from a dude who eschewed psychedelics while embracing legal street drugs like caffeine and sugar.
But I digress.
His song Concentration Moon nails it. Over the hill in The Valley.
He was talking about the WW2 Japanese concentration camps that are still there in the California desert, maintained and ready to receive your sorry dissenting ass.
Closer to home than backwater El Salvador that has nothing better to offer than bananas and a maxi prison. Tourists don’t even visit that shit hole country. And the US is forking up six million to imprison its own citizens there?
Excuse me, I just exited at the wrong train stop at midnight in Roxbury and I can’t find my way home . . .

Grim Jim,
Loved your comment. I am in the US temporarily for family business. When people hear that I have lived in Germany for 30 years they get very talkative. One one hand it would seem that getting out of the US might seem like the only reasonable option at this point. But getting out means starting over. Getting out means one has to learn a new language unless a person wants to limit themselves to getting out to English speaking countries.
All the English speaking countries are going to be Authoritarian in the not to distant future. Canada, or Ireland might be the last to go that route. But also the economies of all the English speaking countries either suck now or they probably will suck in the very near future.
The continental European countries are marching towards authoritarianism just as fast as the US. The economies of these countries are fading even faster than the US is, or so it seems. So these countries do not seem to be all that alluring compared to the US.
Then when one factors in climate change the rest of the world is going to get suffer bone crunching problems even faster than the US or northern Europe. That takes Asia, Africa and South America off the list of potential immigration targets.
The bottom line is that no matter where one moves to from the US it will be unlikely that a person will have a chance to recover their investment that they made to move. That is unless the timelines that we predict for the collapse of industrial civilization, of between 1 and 40 years from now are wrong.
One joker in the deck would be a maassive volcanic eruption which could temporarily cool the planet. But I think that the odds are strongly stacked in our favor. Hahahaha that sounds pretty stupid to say that the odds are stacked in our favor when what I mean is that we think that industrial civilization will collapse soon and bury us along with it.

If that’s accurate that’s pretty surprising to me, because that vile little forum was filled with a massive amount of antisemitism. And I mean real antisemitism, not the “we’re going to call anyone who criticizes Israel or speaks out in favor of basic human rights for Palestinians an anti-semite” version that we see so often today.
